The IRS released the Affordable Care Act (ACA) Information Returns (AIR) AIR Submission Composition and Reference Guide. This document provides guidance on registering to electronically file and submit 1094 and 1095 information returns. An overview to the guidance is also available.

Employers filing more than 250 1094/1095 forms are required to file those forms electronically.
