November 26, 2014: The Department of Health and Human Services released proposed 2016 Reinsurance Contribution Rates. Click Here The proposed reinsurance contribution rate for 2016 is $27 annually per enrollee. As a reminder, ACA requires health insurance issuers and self-funded group health plans to make reinsurance contributions to create funds to stabilize premiums in the individual market during the initial years of Exchange operation (2014-2016). The reinsurance fee can be paid in two installments with the first portion due on or before January 15, 2017 [21.60 per enrollee per year] and the final payment due by November 15, 2017 [$5.40 per enrollee per year].
